We kicked off February with our annual service project to benefit children in our community. We switched it up this year and decided to help the Lighthouse Youth Center with their After School Program. Children ages 9-18 go there after school to build positive relationships with adults and peers and get help with homework/tutoring. They get a free snack and drink every day so our Administrative Vice President collected donations of snacks and juice boxes from our members. At our February business meeting, we had a mom write positive/uplifting/motivating quotes on paper bags and then our children decorated them with crayons and stickers. Our children then got to chose a snack and drink to put into each bag so that each child at the center would get a special snack bag from us. The center was VERY appreciative because children those ages eat a lot of food so they are always in need of donations. Here are some pictures from the service project:
