The Southeast Conference recently took a trip back to the 90’s for their Founder’s Day Luncheon, held Saturday, Nov. 9. The 58 attendees really embraced the 90’s House Party theme for the first luncheon held in the region in many years.

Representatives from 15 chapters convened in Waldorf, MD for the day to celebrate MOMS Club and its values. They brought fun chapter displays, several of which featured bright neon colors and big hair glamour shots. The display representing Ellicott City, MD was awarded best display, with their “I Love the 90’s” theme.

Ellicott City, MD also was awarded best costumes for their coordinated t-shirts which had “Fresh MOMS” on the back and the front read “On the playground is where I spend most of my days”. Many others dressed to the theme, including a Ty Beanie Baby, lots of grunge jeans and flannel, and some 90’s school jackets. Scrunchies and butterfly clips were a must.

The 5 baskets were a big hit, with Ellicott City, MD also winning best basket for their 90’s Slumber Party Basket. It included a Caboodle, Fun Dip, 90’s games, CDs and DVDs, a custom-made Nickelodeon cup, and pizza money!

Conference Coordinator Debbie Cole spoke to us about Mercy, the founder of the first African chapter. It was an inspiring speech to cap off a day of friendship and fun. We look forward to this becoming an annual tradition in our Conference.
