Image [2]Every four years, elite athletes from around the world gather to challenge one another for the title of Olympic champion.  And every summer, the junior athletes of the MOMS Clubs Holmen, WI, gather for a competition of their own – their chapter’s annual Summer Olympics!   While they have to make do without an elaborate opening ceremony broadcast to a worldwide audience of billions, the kids still got their chance to go for gold.

Image [6]The chapter gets ideas for events from Pinterest.   Usually they select 4-5 “sports” – past events have included a large obstacle course, Frisbee, tic-tac-toe, squirt gun rubber ducky races, water balloon toss, car wash, etc.  They separate the kids by age, and station moms at each of the events to help run the show.

Image [4]And of course, what’s the Olympics without a medal ceremony?  The kids made homemade medals with aluminum foil and stickers – perfect for crowning the next crop of new Olympic champions!
