For many of us, Christmas is a time of sharing, joy, and gathering with family   However, for those without a family to join for the holidays, it can be a very tough time of year.

Every Christmas, the MOMS Club of Shelby, NC, hosts a Christmas luncheon for a foster group home in Cleveland County.  Members bring food and fill stockings with Christmas gifts for the residents of the group home.   This year, the chapter put on a luncheon for 10 residents at the chosen group home – helping to make their Christmas a little bit brighter.Clip Art

To fundraise for the event, the chapter approached local eating establishments about holding a fundraiser spirit night, where a portion of restaurant proceeds would be donated to the event.  This helped involve more people in the local community in planning and holding the luncheon for the group home.

The event is more than just a service project – it’s a fun opportunity for the chapter members, kids and spouses to join the festivities and help to spread Christmas cheer to other.  It’s a highlight on the chapter’s annual calendar, and the chapter is looking forward to do even more for the community!
