On Saturday, November 16th, MOMS Club of The Foothills, CA, held its sixth annual Preschool Expo at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church. Members in the community had the opportunity to meet with representatives from twenty preschools in Glendale, La Crescenta, La Canada, Lake View Terrace, Pasadena, Sunland and Tujunga, in addition to receiving a free booklet showcasing thirty-three schools in the area. The expo also featured a bake sale and silent auction, and featured twelve local businesses.
This year’s expo brought in over $3,300 and proceeds will go towards the Elizabeth House Adopt-a-Family and the Mother-To-Mother Fund®.
What made this expo so great was all of the wonderful volunteers who helped put the event together. A committee comprising of twelve moms organized all aspects of the event related to working with the schools, communication with LCPC, soliciting donations for the auction auction, organizing the bake sale, completing the booklet and PR.
Additionally, the event would not have been nearly as successful without the help from the entire chapter in spreading the word, baking/purchasing goods and attending the event. Despite the fact that a lot of work went into putting this event together, it was such a rewarding experience to put this together for the community and raise money for some great charities.
