MOMS club of Las Cruces, New Mexico held a Christmas Elf Adoption event on Saturday December 5, 2020 from 12 – 1:30pm MST. Two of our extremely talented mom’s, Angelique Lucero, owner of Morning Star Creations and member Erika Romero, owner of Sweet and Sassy gifts, handmade personalized 12” Elves for each of our 110+ children in the chapter, helping to make a memorable Christmas experience for our families during these hard times. “This event was to bring joy and a bit of holiday normalcy to our members and their children during a time when a lot of events and traditions have been cancelled due to the COVID Pandemic,” says Angelique Lucero.
Each elf came complete with the child’s name personalized on them, an adoption certificate, and Christmas treats. Our chapter also has Las Cruces’ very own Mrs. Claus as a member. Mother Dyanna Self and her daughter “Elves” Mistletoe, Candy Cane, and Frosty made an appearance during the drive by event to say hello and share the joy of Christmas as our children picked up their Elves! Sunshine Committee Lead, Natalie Fenn, and President, Jenny Carvalho, were also there assisting with day-of coordination of the event. We hoped this event would bring our families together during these trying times. The Las Cruces Chapter of MOMS Club International has 68 current members.
