MOMS Club is an organization that values helping women. That’s exactly what the Roseville – West, CA  chapter did! On March 2nd, these ladies hosted a Quarter Craze fundraiser. All of the proceeds went to the Stand Up Placer, a shelter that empowers survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic abuse.

Careful planning was put into the Quarter Craze event, the President explained that they made invitations and promoted the event through social media websites such as Facebook, and community publications.

The fundraiser kicked off like any other auction, everyone at the event received a paddle so they could bid. A member of the committee would hold up an item and auction it off,  the bids started with just a few quarters. As more and more bidders dropped down, the price rose, with the item awarded to the highest bidder. As this year marks the 35th anniversary of MOMS Club, the first 35 people to attend received a special bag full of goodies with 35 items from local retailers, a commemorating gesture.

“We recruited over 25 local vendors to participate in the event. Vendors included LulaRoe, Mary Kay, Stella & Dot, our committee members solicited tons of local businesses to get donations for our event.” Ticket prices ranged from $10 for advanced, and $15 at the door. They had 45 items in the live auction, 40 silent auction items and 40 raffle items. Each raffle ticket was just $1.00, but you could pay $20 for a wingspan.  The chapter was able to raise $6,855.00!
