On January 14, 2014, Liz, the founder of the MOMS Club of Monterey Park, CA was honored not only by the City of Monterey Park but also by the County of LA as an Exceptional Citizen for her work in founding her chapter. We could not be more excited for her!!
Exceptional citizen awards are given to residents of Monterey Park who volunteered with no expectation of any recognition or pay. They volunteered humbly – because they care. These individuals play a direct part in making their city a better place to live.
The special ceremony was held at the beginning of the city council meeting. The mayor of Monterey Park presented the awards herself. She spoke of the importance of stay-at-home mothers having support and how much she appreciated Liz seeing that need in their community and helping fill it. She even took a moment to allow Liz’s son the microphone.
The MOMS Club of Monterey Park, CA was founded less than a year ago so this award is a huge honor for both Liz and the chapter.
