So many of our chapters are involved iFancy Hatsn impressive fundraising activities that do great things for their local communities – and we hear from many chapters who are looking for exciting, new and creative ideas to help.   The MOMS Club of Iron County, Utah, has a great story to tell – about the Pink Tea of Southern Utah!

The Pink Tea is a charity fundraising event where attendees wear dressy hats and are served tea and finger foods by Southern Utah University football players dressed up in white shirts and ties.   March 21 was the 5th annual edition of the Pink Tea, and drew hundreds of attendees — and the hats were out in fine form!  This year the event had contests for Most Creative Hat, Most Outrageous Hat, Most Vintage Hat, & Most Whimsical Hat.    To prepare for the event, the chapter also hosted a Hat Making Day to help everyone get their creative hat-making juices flowing.Miss Iron County

The event, held in a ballroom at SUU, featured live music from local singing group Cherokee Blonde, a princess corner for the kids, and a live and silent auction.  They also had guest appearances from the Mayor of Cedar City (wearing her own fancy hat!), Miss Iron County, the National Little Britches Rodeo Queen, and Cinderella princesses and queens.

The Pink Tea raised over $8,600 for SUU’s chapter of Camp Kesem, a special week-long summer camp for kids with a family member fighting cancer.   The camp is free to children in need and relies on the support of donations to make it possible.
