For at least the past 8 years, we have been involved in the 31 year running program by WANISS called the Festival of the Trees. Each year our chapter comes up with a theme, has our children create ornaments, and decorates a tree to display at the Center of Performing Arts in Munster, Indiana.

This year has been hard on everyone, so we thought there was no better way to combat the negative than with a positive message of hope, joy and COLOR!

The executive board met to discuss how we would decorate our tree and came up with the idea to wrap tissue paper around foam balls in a rainbow pattern. The kids all got to put in their own creativity and diligently created some masterpieces!

We normally would have an in person craft party, but we adapted to change in a pandemic. We worked separately but united for the same purpose. This past Monday night some of the MOMS, members new and old, met to put up the tree.

It is a fun tradition we hope to keep for many years to come!
