The 2019 Northwest/Pacific West Regional Founder’s Day Luncheon just celebrated another successful event! Our Luncheon was held this past Saturday, November 2, in Hillsboro, Oregon. With over 160 members from Northern California, Hawaii, Alaska, Washington and Oregon, everyone embraced this year’s theme of “Once Upon a Mom; What’s Your Story?” Many chapters dressed up and wore crowns and gowns and other delightful costumes. Some even designed the most incredible matching shirts that were dazzling and beautiful. A costume contest was a fun addition to the day. Chapters proudly exhibited their chapter displays, highlighting the best of what they provide for their members. The “Mirror, Mirror” themed display from the Vancouver-NW, WA chapter was voted Favorite Display. Everyone was also treated to an abundance of beautiful baskets of goodies donated by many of the chapters attending. The Turlock-East, CA chapter earned Best Basket with their basket offering 4 tickets to Disneyland. This year’s keynote address was given by Kitty McKay, a speaker, author, and transformational navigator. Her talk, “Chasing Happily Ever After,” gave this year’s attendees a glimpse into her own compelling story as she taught us about the beauty of “embracing our perfectly, imperfect lives” and letting go of what “should be” and loving what “is.” There was an abundance of happiness and cheer as chapters celebrated each other, the friendships and support they provide for each other as well as their accomplishments within their communities. All in all, an incredible event that left everyone asking, “How soon do we get to do this again?” Northern California, November 2020, let the countdown begin!
