On January 25, 2014, the MOMS Club of Bensalem, PA conducted a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit Family Promise® of Lower Bucks. Their mission is to reduce homelessness among local families with children. Family Promise® of Lower Bucks aims to provide shelter, hot meals, warm beds and support while guests complete goal oriented tasks to help them get back into self sustainable housing.
In addition to their pancake breakfast, they also conducted raffles to support this worthy cause. Thirty one baskets were donated to raffle off!
There were four characters to entertain the kids: Elmo, Cookie Monster, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse!!
The costumes were lent to them (for free) by the Bensalem Lions Club. One of their member’s father is a Lion and lends them the costumes though out the year; such as Frosty the Snowman, Santa and the Easter Bunny (most of the time he dresses up for them too). For their pancake breakfast, one of their moms was Elmo, a member’s father was Cookie Monster and two of the teenager kiddos were Mickey and Minnie Mouse! They had many of their moms there helping to serve breakfast along with several of their children helping to bus tables. It was a great opportunity to teach them about helping others!
They are happy to report that we raised over $1600 for this wonderful organization!
