The MOMS Club of Coastal Delaware, DE hosted a Preschool and Activity Fair on Saturday, January 11th. This vendor fair, held in the gymnasium of a local church, gave families throughout the community the opportunity to visit face-to-face with local preschool representatives to help determine which is the best fit for their children. In addition to the preschools, there were a variety of organizations and businesses that offer extra-curricular activities for kids including karate, soccer, tennis, yoga, music classes, summer camps, art programs, and more. Twenty-six local vendors participated in the fair and attendance topped 175…pretty good for a really small town!
In addition to the vendors, throughout the morning there were demonstrations by two local children’s music groups and an exciting show by Charlie the Magician. Face painting was VERY popular and attendees could also participate in a raffle and a chance to win tons of great door prizes.
As a parent, it can be hard to decide which school is best for your kids and which activities they would most benefit from, and even harder to find the time to research and visit all the places you are interested in. The moms in the MOMS Club are all-too-familiar with these challenges, which is why we choose to host this event year after year, opening it to the public. It is a way for us to give back to the community by offering these resources all in one place for ease and convenience, and of course, a fun way to spend a Saturday morning with the kids! We met a number of moms who were interested in learning more about MOMS Club, so we invited them to our next monthly business meeting. We charged vendors enough to cover the costs of the event, and plan to donate any extra money to the Mother-to-Mother Fund.
