Service members who need medical care while deployed overseas face a tough road. Not only do they need to focus on getting better, but they need to do it thousands of miles from their hometown, their support networks, and their friends and family. The MOMS Club of Kaiserslautern, Germany, has been doing their part to help the recovering service members in their community get a little slice of home.

Knowing that the fastest way to recover is with a good home-cooked meal, the chapter recently prepared and served dinner for service members at the USO Warrior Center. The USO Warrior Center is a “home away from home” for service members who are receiving care at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

12122014 MOMS Club USO Warrior Center Landstuhl, Germany 015-1_edited-1The USO had high praise for the chapter’s service project: “The Warrior Center would like to send a huge THANK YOU to the MOMS Club of Kaiserslautern for preparing an absolutely delicious meal for the wounded, ill and injured service members and hospital staff at LRMC! Your hard work was appreciated by many this evening. One guest in attendance commented, ‘The food was out of this world. Thank you for all of the food and love. You guys were amazing. Thanks for brightening our day!'”

Thanks to the MOMS Club of Kaiserslautern for showing us that a home-cooked meal doesn’t need to be served from home!
