Oh the weather outside is frightful
We thought no school would be delightful
But since we’ve no place to go
Cookie dough, bubbles blow, learn to sew
With so many of our moms snowed/iced in – we have collected several suggestions for great things to do on a snowy day inside.
- Indoor snowball fight with balled up socks
- Scavenger hunt for items around the house
- Make a fort
- Make and decorate cookies
- Salt dough ornaments
- Home science projects
- Write stories
- Afternoon teddy bear tea party
- Bring some snow inside and make mini-indoor snowmen
- Let the kids create a lunch menu and play restaurant (bonus – no cooking for you!)
- Puzzles (maybe even print on some card stock and make your own)
- Make paper snowflakes
- Grab a few rocks from outside and paint them like characters and then use them to make up stories
- Make homemade gifts, paint feet, handprints
- Make a scrapbook together, print ‘stickers’ and other elements for them to cut up and paste onto the pages
- Make a snow globe
