Easter is coming up – and kids everywhere will be hunting around for eggs, chocolates, jelly beans and a boatload of other goodies left by the Easter Bunny. The MOMS Club of Omaha-SW, NE recently banded together to help a local non-profit put on their own Easter egg hunt for families in need.
Open Door Mission is a rescue mission in Omaha committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. They offer warm, safe beds to homeless people; serve hot, nutritious meals; and otherwise do what they can to help. They recently posted on Facebook asking for help in stuffing Easter eggs for their upcoming Easter egg hunt.
And the MOMS Club of Omaha-SW responded! They had so much interest from members wanting to help that they hosted an “egg stuff” at their general meeting. The chapter collected 1,200 stuffed Easter eggs – weighing forty pounds! Moms and kids alike contributed their time to making a happy Easter for families in need in Omaha – and the children learned an important lesson about giving to those in need.
