International Coordinators
Personal Connection and Supportfor Chapters
Rebecca, Chapter President
I wanted to let you know how much Lisa has supported us as our chapter coordinator. From the very beginning (years ago) she has spent countless hours helping me navigate tough situations with the club and has always been incredibly supportive. I would never have made it through my first year without her. She gave me the courage to take on the President role and join on as a coordinator. I have learned so much from her and she has been a lifeline for me and our chapter. I’m so grateful for her patience and friendship.
Additionally, everyone I have interacted with from International has been so kind and supportive. I know it goes unacknowledged often, but I’m continually reminded of what an exceptional organization this is and the compassion and dedication of all the volunteers make all the difference.
Mary, Assistant Regional Coordinator
A coordinator first asked if I’d be interested in becoming a Big Sister while I was president of my local chapter, and I said YES! I thought it would be fun to know what other chapters were up to. I also thought it would be gratifying to help other chapters by sharing the knowledge I had gained in a leadership role for my own chapter.
It was inspiring to read what other MOMS Club chapters were doing in their newsletters, and it often gave me ideas for activities and service projects for my own chapter. It expanded the sense of camaraderie I felt with other charters. I also found that being a Big Sister gave me deeper insight into the organization of International MOMS Club as a whole, which benefited my local chapter.
While I’m no longer on my local chapter’s board, becoming a Big Sister gave me the opportunity to give back to an organization that gave me so much as a mother, and with that, a stronger sense of purpose.

Frequently AskedQuestions
What is a Big Sister?
A Big Sister is a new Primary Coordinator and is the first person that a chapter will reach out to when they want to speak with International. A Big Sister is a vital connection between the Chapter and International. We LOVE for chapters to think of their Big Sister/Primary Coordinator as an extension of their chapter, to include them in their newsletter distribution, reach out to them when they have wonderful news to share, ask them when they have questions that they are unsure of, or find themselves in situations where they need a bit of extra guidance. A Big Sister should strive to be a positive beacon for their chapters and someone the chapter feels comfortable coming to for anything that they may need — big or small!
Who can be a Big Sister?
Any current or past board member can be a Big Sister! There have also been instances where a really great Activity Group Coordinator, who was never on the board, has been recommended by a chapter President to become a Big Sister as well. So, while being on the board isn’t a 100% requirement, it is the typical route.
What do I need to know to be a Big Sister?
Nothing more than you do right now. Even if you haven’t experienced a crazy amount of issues or situations in your own chapter, as a board member you have been exposed to the basic operations and expectations for chapters. We’ll teach you the rest! And, since so much of what we see is specific to individual situations, there is a lot of “on the job training”. But, you are NEVER alone. You will always have a Mentoring Coordinator who is there to help guide you. No matter how long you are a volunteer, you’ll always have someone you can go to with questions or for advice!
Why would you want ME to be a Big Sister?
Everyone has something to offer – and that includes YOU! We all bring unique perspectives, gifts and talents to the MOMS Club. That is true in our own chapters as well as with International. Don’t think that you don’t have something to offer at the International level — YOU DO — and we’d love to have you join our team!
When can I apply to be a Big Sister?
NOW! You can apply to volunteer with International at any time during the year. Unlike a board position, you can start a Big Sister role any time and are not restricted to a 12 month July – June window.
Volunteer With Us
Becoming a Big SisterIs Easy
Our volunteers are an integral part of MOMS Club and supporting mothers. Most of our volunteers are current or former board members, who wish to still give, but in a different way. This is a great way to share the knowledge you’ve gained, learn new skills, meet other chapters, and take on new challenges. We want to offer chapters a support team that they have come to expect. Many chapters need our guidance, and we want to build a strong team to be there to help them.
Becoming a Big Sister is the first step in joining our volunteer team. We’d love to have you, so please take a moment to think about it. If you’d like more details or have questions feel free to contact any of your coordinators or simply fill out the volunteer application by clicking on the link below and we’ll put you in touch with the Coordinator Team in your area!
